Bonding materials are extremely important in the longevity and the retention of modern dental CAD/CAM materials. Two of the materials that have greatly influenced dentistry in the last few years have been Zirconium Oxide and Lithium Disilicate with various modifications within these restorations such as monolithic and the layering technique of porcelains.
Upon completion of this CE activity, the student will be able to: Understand and differentiate the strengths and weaknesses of both Zirconium Oxide and Lithium Disilicate systems; understand the science behind bonding as it relates to these two materials; understand how these materials fare in terms of reliability, predictability and understand which specific clinical indications of where and when to use these materials.
