The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends an oral health exam after eruption of the first tooth or by one year of age. The erupting teeth, however, are not the only structures for examination in children and adolescents. Multiple anomalies and pathologies can arise in the oral cavities of our young patients. This CE webinar will provide an overview of anomalies/pathologies that may present in the oral cavity of young patients through adolescence, presented in a fun and engaging manner. Cases will be presented, encouraging audience participation to arrive at a differential diagnosis for each case. The importance of interdisciplinary care among healthcare providers will also be stressed.
Upon completion of the CE webinar, participants will be able to: • List the etiology, clinical appearance and treatment options for a variety of oral anomalies and pathologies that may be present in children and adolescents • Explain the process of developing a differential diagnosis for anomalies and pathologies discovered in young patients • Explain the importance of interdisciplinary, collaborative care among healthcare providers in treating pathologies and anomalies in young patients
